Week 1 - Coming Undone
In this brief video Sam explains the how to do the Exodus Course by giving an overview of the 4 main components that make up the course. Below is a summary:
The Exodus Course will take you nine weeks to complete. You can do the course as a group or an individual, however we recommend doing it as a group if possible. Each week will consist of 4 main components, explained in more detail below, which are: the weekly lesson, workbook, group meeting and a daily devotional. Here’s a summary of what each week looks like:
Step 1: Video Lesson
The Lessons are to be done by yourself at any point before your group meeting. These lessons are available here on the website, on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, you can find the links for these in the footer of this webpage.
Step 2: Workbook
The workbook is also to be completed by yourself, after you’ve done the lesson, at any point prior to the group meeting. We recommend using a journal or the notes application on your device to record your processing and prayers.
Step 3: Daily Devotional
The daily devotional is designed to cultivate a healthy rhythm of time with God each day and can also be found as a part of the online course. The devotional is available in both written form and as a podcast. You can find the devotional podcast episodes with the lesson episodes, as well as being linked at the end of every written devotional.
Step 4: Group
Your group is encouraged to be anywhere between 3-6 people. We encourage you to form a group chat on a platform such as Whatsapp or iMessage for your daily communication. More detail about how the groups work will be revealed as you go through the content.
Additionally your group is encouraged to meet once per week to go over the lesson/workbook/devotionals content, pray for and minister to one another. Everyone in the group should have at least done the lesson and workbook before the group meeting. You could meet in person or online through a platform such as zoom or google meet. Make sure to meet at an agreed time for between 1-2 hours to process the content from the week, pray for and encourage one another.
